Jake Mortley,

Head Coach

I started Hockey Moves because I'm passionate about hockey and love sharing my skills with young players. I've always enjoyed teaching, from my days playing competitive hockey to working at hockey camps. I've been lucky to play in both North America and Sweden, which has helped me mix North American and European styles in my instruction.

Hunter Godmere

I began playing hockey at the age of 10, later than many of my friends, as part of the Barrie Christian Hockey League for fun. However, by the time I was 16, I had developed a strong passion for the sport and started to train seriously with the goal of seeing how far I could take it. Despite suffering an injury during my first tryout for a rep hockey team, I persevered and went on to play Jr.C and Jr.B in the following seasons. Determined to keep chasing my dream, I now play, and also coach, in Sweden where I am actively pursuing my goals in hockey.

Caleb Wallis

Hey! My name’s Caleb Wallis, I played my last year of hockey Innisfil Jr C. My goal with Hockey Moves is to help every player excel to the best of their ability, developing their skills both on and off the ice!

Paige McGuire

I’ve been playing competitive hockey since I was 4 years old. Grew up playing rep hockey in Barrie, my passion led me to play in the GTA from when I was 15 to 17 years old . I continued to work extremely hard and pursue my hockey goals at Hockey Training Institute (HTI), playing prep schools in the States. I am currently playing for the Barrie Jr Sharks of the OWHL (u22 elite) and  am constantly working towards the next steps in my career. Aside from playing hockey, I love working with young hockey players and giving back to the community. 

Nic McFadden

What’s up Hockey Movers? My Name is Nic and I am born, raised, and reside in Orillia, Ontario. I grew up playing A hockey, and in 2022 decided to start giving back to my community through coaching. I’m extremely passionate about giving back to the sport and helping hockey players improve and reach their goals.

Emily Pinto

I started playing hockey when I was three years old. I learned how to skate on the frozen pond near my house. I grew up in Mississauga, Ontario and played minor hockey all around the GTA. I played 5 years of NCAA division 1 ice hockey. I played  four years at Mercyhurst University and 1 year at the University of New Hampshire. My passion for the game helped me to pursue a professional hockey career in Sweden, where i played for SDE in the SDHL. I look forward to sharing my knowledge, passion and skills with the next generation of young hockey players

Sean Ross

I grew up playing minor hockey for the North Central Predators. I just finished my fourth year playing for the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks in the OUA. I’ll be playing hockey in the France div 1 league next season. I’m looking forward to working with young hockey players to improve their skill and knowledge for the game. 

Kyle Heitzner

Hi, I'm Kyle Heitzner and I'm from Brechin, ON. I grew up playing Orillia minor hockey and north Central Predators AAA. I was fortunate enough to play over 100 games for the OHL Barrie Colts. One of my favourite parts of playing in the OHL was getting involved in the community and helping out with youth hockey camps. I'm really excited about the opportunity to meet the next generation’s hockey players and work alongside Jake.

Mason Taylor-Wood

I grew up playing A hockey for the Orillia Terriers. I have the opportunity to affiliate with the North Central Predators AAA. I used to be a defenseman in my younger years but then switched to forward a few years ago. I have trained many years with professional on-ice hockey trainers and off-ice strength coaches. I have managed to stay healthy during my whole career of minor hockey and plan on staying healthy to move on further with my journey. I enjoy teaching my knowledge and applying it to drills to hopefully improve the skills of the future generation.

 

Michael Pelech

I have been playing hockey since I was 5 years old. I have been playing pro hockey in North America for 14 years, mainly in the ECHL. I have most recently played for the Atlanta Gladiators. I look forward to continuing my hockey career while getting involved in the community and helping younger players reach their goals.
